Wata® (Waterdance)

WATA® (WaterDance) is a dynamic movement therapy that uses the three-dimensionality aspects of the underwater world.

Developed by Arjana Brunschwiler and Aman Schroter in Switzerland in 1987, “Wassertanzen” slowly introduces the receiver to periods of movement underwater where deeper levels of freedom and therapeutic release become possible. With deep awareness and attention to breath connection, the receiver is given nose clips and a variety of individually choreographed waves, stretches, dolphin like rolls, and snake-like movements are utilized to address your unique patterns of tension and holding. As the session unfolds, we gracefully weave together the worlds above and below, within and without… often resulting in profound levels of peace and inner awareness.

A Dance between Form and Formlessness

Watsu and WATA increases range of motion, elongates the spine, stretches muscles, and relieves tension and stress. The warmth and hydrostatic pressure of the water promotes healthy circulation and calms the nervous system. It is wonderful for relieving the aches and pains of pregnancy while giving expectant moms to be an opportunity to connect with their developing child. Aquatic offerings are deeply relaxing and nurturing for everybody.
